Gold Leaf Wafer Paper Transfer
by Pooja Sareen
Components :
Wafer paper
24crt Gold leaf (transfer sheets)
Water in a spray bottle
Scissors
Soft brush
Craft punches
Step 1: Cut the wafer paper into half lengthwise.
Keep your Gold leaf transfer sheet ready. Holding the spray bottle about a foot away, VERY LIGHTLY spray on the smooth side of the wafer paper.
Step 2: Lay the Gold leaf transfer sheet over the wet wafer paper and gently rub with your finger (helps gold leaf to stick onto the wafer paper).
Step 3: Gently peel the transfer sheet from the wafer paper. If the gold leaf is still doesn’t transfer, just lay the transfer paper back and rub softly then peel. Keep repeating the steps until you cover the complete strip of the wafer paper.
Step 4: Once you are done with covering the complete length of the wafer paper with gold leaf. Let it dry for 5-7 mins. Take preferable craft punches and place the gold leaf wafer paper inside the craft punches, press to get the designed details. Repeat until you punch the whole strip.
Step 5: You can use the mini craft punches for the leftover wafer paper gold strips and save the tiny gold pieces for decorating your cakes.
Step 6: With the help of piping gel attach the gold leaf wafer paper on the Fondant cake and you’re done!
