Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Italian cake designer Veronica Seta shared with us this oh-so-sweet cake. Winner of both the Gold and Best in Show at a competition in Capua, Italy last November, her creation highlights the sweet innocence of a newlywed couple.
The materials were all edible– fondant paste to cover the cake dummies, modelling paste for the bride and groom and other decorative elements, including lace sugar icing and gum paste for flowers.
Here’s what she had to say:
“I wanted it to embrace every technique in cake design from modelling to sugar flowers and above all I wanted it to be the most elegant, tender and romantic cake I could ever design. Actually when I finished the topper, I stayed minutes in staring at it and I was very satisfied with conveying the idea of love in that kiss the groom was about to give the bride. That was tenderness and pure love!”
