Joyful Summer Pineapple Cookie Tutorial

Edibles: 

Egg-shaped cookie 

Petal dust: pearl shimmer, bright yellow, turquoise, yellow, and brown 

Black edible pen 

Royal icing: yellow, green, beige, orange, and fuchsia 

Gel food color: brown, chestnut, leaf green, peach, orange, poppy red, pink, and white 

Equipment: 

Large dusting brush 

Piping bags 

Piping tips: #1.5, #2, #57R (PME) 

Paintbrushes: flat and round 

Decorate the Cookie 

  1. Dust your cookie with a large, fluffy brush to resemble a beach, using pearl shimmer, bright yellow, and turquoise petal dust.
  2. Draw your pineapple template on the cookie with an edible pen.                                                      
  3. Make the pineapple leaves with green royal icing and a #1.5 tip, from the inside out.
  4. Make the pineapple leaves with green royal icing and a #1.5 tip, from the inside out.
  5. Pipe beige royal icing using a #2 tip to make the ribbon, forming the sides first before filling in the middle.                                                                                                              
  6. Pipe orange royal icing using a #57R tip and flatten with a small, flat paintbrush to form petals. 
  7. Change the orange royal icing tip to a #1 to make the stamen and the side petals.
  8. With the fuchsia royal icing and a #57R tip, make 4 petals and flatten after each one of them with the round paintbrush.
  9. Change the fuchsia royal icing tip to a #1 and make the stamen.                           
  10. Paint the details and the inscription on the ribbon with brown gel food color.
  11. Add dimension to the pineapple with chestnut gel food color.                                                                 
  12. Dust the pineapple with brown petal dust.
  13. Paint the pineapple leaves with leaf green gel food color.
  14. Color the stamens of both flowers with peach and orange gel food colors.
  15. Paint the flowers using poppy red and pink gel food colors.
  16. Add some finishing touches with white gel food color.
