New York, February 10, 2026 — American Cake Decorating is pleased to announce that Cyd Mitchell Hodges has been appointed as the Director of Digital Strategy and Revenue.
In this role, Hodges will be responsible for guiding the magazine through its next phase with a focus on strengthening the website experience and audience relationships, as well as launching new monetization initiatives. This appointment reflects ACD’s renewed commitment to modernizing its digital ecosystem and deepening audience engagement through value-driven content across platforms.
Operating at the intersection of finance and digital strategy, Hodges has worked exclusively with food entrepreneurs since 2014, offering a nuanced understanding of both the creative and operational sides of the industry. She is also a familiar voice to the magazine’s audience, as she’s offered insights to ACD’s readership through her column Sweet Boss since 2019.

By trade, Cyd Mitchell Hodges is an accountant and a financial analyst with a master’s from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Widely recognized in the food industry, she has provided business guidance through her online platforms Sweet Fest and the Sugar Coin Academy. She has also served as an instructor and a prominent on-stage host at the International Baking Industry Expo, as well as other leading industry events, and she is the organizer of the Ultimate Sugar Show, Georgia’s largest baking and sweets conference and tradeshow. Prior to joining ACD in her new role, Hodges served as the CFO/COO for Sugar Geek Show, a recipe blog and online education platform for baking enthusiasts and sugar artists.
