Marlene Debattista
Marlene Debattista is the owner of Cake Heaven by Marlene. She is Maltese and lives in Siggiewi, a picturesque village about half an hour away from Malta’s capital city, Valletta.
Marlene has been decorating cakes for over 22 years, she considers it a passion and a hobby rather than a business, stating, “I am not a professional cake decorator, designing and decorating cakes is one of my greatest passions.” Marlene first became interested in cake decorating after seeing an ad for classes. She took a class and was immediately hooked, taking further classes to improve her skill and indulge her passion for cake artistry.
Marlene only decorates cakes for friends, family and loved ones and doesn’t currently own a business. She has no plans to turn her hobby into a business, saying, ” I do not decorate cakes professionally, however, I love to make cakes, cupcakes, and cookies for family and friends collaborations, magazines, and sometimes just for the fun of making a new design.” Her incredible designs are certainly eye-catching, fun, and colorful. Instantly recognizable, Marlene has been able to develop a distinct, signature style that is all her own.
