Sugar Artist extraordinaire, Anne Heap shares her “Cake Challenge” marble cake recipe. Anne is owner of the flagship ‘Pink Cake Box” and the successful Pink Cake Box blog. Anne is known the world over for her incredible cake designs, appearances on TLC and Food Network shows, and as a craftsy instructor. As a Satin Ice Artist of Excellence, she will be teaching at upcoming America’s Cake Fair, where she will showing eager students how to create gorgeous parrot tulips and demonstrating her painting techniques.

Ingredients:
- 500g cake flour
- 500g granulated sugar
- 28g baking powder
- 8g salt
- 240g butter softened
- 400g whole milk
- 225g egg whites
- 15g vanilla extract
- 40g cocoa powder + (2 TBS water)
Prep Time: 30 min.
Cook Time: 60 min.
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in mixing bowl. Add milk. Mix on slow speed for 2 minutes. Scrape sides. Add butter. Mix medium for 3 minutes. Scrape bowl. Add combined egg whites and vanilla. Beat on low for 2 minutes. Scrape sides, combine to mix for 1 minute.
Set aside 400g of batter. Add cocoa powder to 400g of batter. Mix well. If too thick, gradually add water to match vanilla batter consistency.
Pour vanilla batter and dollops of chocolate batter into cake pans. Swirl.
Bake 350 degrees for approx. 45- 60 minutes.
